Lucofin® 1492M is a chemically modified polyethylene, i.e. EBA grafted with maleic anhydride (MA).
Lucofin® 1492M can be used pure or combined with other polymers where improved polarity is required.
Product advantages
- easy processing on standard processing equipment
- polarity and adhesion to various materials
- good compatibility and filler acceptance
- good mechanical properties
Applications
Due to the maleic anhydride content this grade offers excellent adhesion to polar materials and can be used - possibly in combination with Lucofin® 1400HN or Lucofin® 1400MN - to
- provide high filler loading, such as ATH (Aluminum tri hydrate) and MDH (Magnesium di hydrate) in HFFR compounds
- flexibilize and toughen (impact modification) otherwise brittle plastics (PA, PA/ABS, PBT, PET), including scrap/recycled material
- modify melt viscosity and therefore improve processability for PA
- compatibilize dissimilar polymer compounds, such as PA/PE and PE/PS
- improve bonding and strength in
- wood-plastic composite WPC, such as PE, PP/ wood flour
- polymer/fiber (glass fiber, natural fiber, long fiber, short fiber) compounds such as PP/long glass fibre
- in multilayer films/structures to act as a tie layer between dissimilar materials, such as polyolefins, PE copolymers, ionomers, polyamides, EVOH, polyesters, polycarbonates and aluminium ,e. g.:
- PE / Lucofin® 1492M / PET
- PE / Lucofin® 1492M / EVOH
