Product description
Lucofin is a coloured, highly stabilized, bitumen-free TPO raw material based on polyolefins. The granules are available in the following standard colour: blue
Product properties
Lucofin products display excellent tear resistance, flexibility, and weathering resistance. Lucofin exhibits good toughness, superior biaxial stretchability, and flexibility even at low temperatures. It is insensitive to stress cracking and notch effects. Special stabilization provides good resistance to heat ageing and UV radiation. Lucofin is thus to a large extent resistant to weathering and ageing.
Product advantages
- easy processing on standard processing equipment
- easy to weld (hot air/ hot air wedge welding)
- good mechanical properties
- compatible with polyolefins and bitumen according to DIN 16726
Applications
Coloured Lucofin products are mainly used in construction, for instance, for TPO/FPO roofing and swimming pool membranes, profiles for the construction industry and as well as waterstops. Lucofin membranes and profiles can be welded safely and durably. Furthermore, Lucofin is suitable for the production of injection moulded parts in the building sector. In most cases it is necessary to choose the same raw material for parts, profiles and membranes due to the requirement of same colour and stabilization.
Processing
Lucofin products are suited for standard processing equipment used for thermoplastics. We recommend the following processing temperatures as standard values for extrusion.
Profiles: approx. 150° - 180 °C
Membranes/ flat-sheet composites: approx. 160° - 230 °C
Coatings: approx. 160° - 240 °C
For injection moulding Lucofin compounds are processed at melt temperatures ranging from 160° - 220 °C and mould temperatures from 10° - 40 °C.
Packaging
Granules: 25 kilo bags, other packaging upon request.
Root resistance
Lucofin roofing and sealing membranes are resistant to penetration by roots according to DIN 16726 and FLL, and root resistant.
Fire protection
Lucofin is categorized as building material class B2.
Chemical resistance
Lucofin is resistant to water and aqueous solutions, salt as well as to dilute acids and bases. When exposed to aliphatic, aromatic and halogen substituted hydrocarbons, Lucofin may swell or dissolve to a certain extent. Lucofin can be supplied as an algicide effective version upon request.
