DOW™AXELERON™CX K-0012 NT is a masterbatch, which is used as a nucleating agent in gas injection processing. It is specially developed for easy mixing with HDPE and LDPE. When used, a small, evenly distributed cell structure can be made. The masterbatch is based on high-pressure LDPE resin, and 2% of a heating chemical foaming agent is added. The usage of this product should be 0.5-3% masterbatch content.
DOW™AXELERON™CX K-0012 NT contains a stabilizer to prevent thermal oxidation and copper-induced catalyst degradation.
Application areas:
Typical application areas include RF cables and CATV lead-in cables, with a foaming rate of up to 80%.

Dow AXELERON™ CX K-0012 NT Polyethylene Masterbatch is designed to be extruded with HDPE DGDA-6944 NT and LDPE DFDK-1253 NT from Dow. It is normally added at 0.5 - 3 % masterbatch concentration into a blend of 60 - 80 % DGDA-6944 NT and 20 - 40 % DFDK-1253 NT. It is normally extruded with a target melt temperature of 170 - 190 °C. Typical extruder barrel temperatures required depend on the extruder size and construction being made but a good starting point is:
Feed zone: 140 -150 °C
Transition zone: 160 -170 °C
Injection point: 180 -190 °C
Metering zone: 180 -190 °C
Crosshead and Die: 180 -190 °C |
