Plyophen 23900 is a liquid one-step phenolic resin in ethanol.
Plyophen 23900 is a heat resistant laminating varnish for use in the production of components for rockets and missiles. This resin is a high heat resistant, low or high pressure, laminating phenolic with exceptionally high strengths at elevated temperatures. It is generally reinforced with glass cloth or glass filaments, but can also be reinforced with other materials. The pre-impregnation of reinforcements with this resin is quite simple, and the resin content and volatile content can be easily adjusted for the particular application.
Laminates made with this resin, in addition to the high physical properties at elevated temperatures, have good resistance to organic solvents, weak inorganic acids, and hydraulic aircraft oil or de-icing fluids, low moisture absorption, and good resistance to rain and hot gas erosion.
